Stacey Solomon shows off new bathroom that she’s ‘ready for you to hate’

Stacey Solomon has been busy redecorating her new home (Picture: ITV/Shutterstock) Stacey Solomon has proudly unveiled her sons’ brand new facilities – ominously dubbed ‘The Orange Bathroom.’ In the end of one era, the former X Factor star, 37, and husband Joe Swash, 44, moved out of their so-called Pickle Cottage last month. The pair have moved their family into a £2million mansion in Essex, which Stacey has wasted little time in renovating. The work done so far includes a swish (or swash) new bathroom, decorated in shades of grey and orange. ‘I’m ready for people to hate this,’ Stacey began as she posted the pictures to Instagram, adding: ‘But honestly I love it so so much…’ Orange, it seems, is the new pickle. I just couldn’t throw it away; it was so pretty. ‘I have plenty of rooms to be neutral in, but this is the boys’ upstairs bathroom & they LOVE this colour, so I got to have so much fun in here bringing colour back to life. ‘This room now just makes me happy as soon as I open the door. It’s so bright and cheerful 🥲 ‘We have a few snagging bits to do & I think I need to add some more bits and bobs, but here she is. One room done ✔️ ‘Wahoo,’ she finished, signing off with – what else? – an orange heart emoji. Said eventgems24: ‘Only you could not only make an orange bathroom look good, but also make us all love it!’ while theoldarchhouse said it looks ‘so happy individual and fabulous!’ Not everyone was quite so keen, though – with some imperfections in the decoration driving a few followers potty. Namely, unpainted pipes, a stuck-up toilet seat and holders that aren’t flush with the design. ‘Love it but the towel/loo roll holders would drive me nuts as they’re not in the middle of the stripes,’ pointed out nattyj1982. ‘Would paint the toilet waste orange though,’ said sail_joseph of the bright white pipes sticking out like a sore thumb (or plumb). ‘Come on, put the toilet seat down. Stacey and Joe share six children together, including his son from a previous marriage, and her two boys from previous relationships. In addition to Harry, Zachary and Leighton, Joe and Stacey are also parents to daughters Rose and Belle. Earlier this month, Stacey showed off the dining room she’d had done up in honour of Rose’s fifth birthday. In typical Solomon style, it had been decked out in various shades of pink, with a long dining table laden with flowers and candles. A second pink table displayed Rose’s birthday cake, while a giant illuminated number five stood next to an arrangement of pink balloons. She added: ‘Just for security and privacy reasons… we had some issues at Pickle Cottage in the end and it’s safer to just not show the building itself.’ Although that hasn’t stopped her from showing off the interiors and her ostentatious redesigns therein. It’s a house son Zach has described as ‘100% haunted.’ Reacting to those who described her new home as ‘creepy,’ Stacey weighed in, joking: ‘I get it. It won’t be creepy. Imagine a bit of paint, furnishings… it won’t be creepy forever!
