SPIES have caught a Russian hitman who allegedly planned to kill a popular rapper helping launch drone strikes on Moscow. Polish authorities said the suspect was allegedly acting on orders from a Russian intelligence agency and was plotting to kill the US and Ukrainian citizen. It comes after at least 13 people died when Ukrainian drones blasted around 20 Wildberries houses last month. Ukraine has intensified its attacks on Wildberries facilities this month, launching strikes on 11 hubs that inflicted major damage on seven. The strikes on the regime’s biggest online marketplace are part of Volodymyr Zelensky‘s cunning plan to cripple the logistics operation that supplies Russia‘s military with drone parts and other equipment. Dadyan, formerly known as Albert Vasilyev, performs under the alias Kyivstoner and has been accused by Russia’s Federal Security Service of masterminding the “logistics of delivering drones to the Moscow region”. The FSB claims the deadly drones were destined for attacks on “strategic facilities” in Moscow and its sprawling surroundings. Moscow has since branded Dadyan an extremist and terrorist, adding the rapper to its notorious blacklist. Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk said the country’s ABW domestic intelligence service had smashed the alleged hit plot at the last minute. “We must assume that the Putin regime will try to eliminate people who are inconvenient [to it] for various reasons, in various places around the world,” he said. Dadyan first rocketed to fame through a string of viral comedy videos before becoming one of the founders of Ukrainian band Hryby. He later stormed into a solo career as Kyivstoner, while also appearing in films. Before Putin unleashed his full-scale invasion in 2022, Dadyan spent years in Moscow and worked with Russian rap star Vasily Vakulenko, known as Basta. His activities in Russia during the annexation of Crimea and the war in Donbas had already drawn fierce criticism in Ukrainian media. But when Putin launched his widespread conflict in February 2022, Dadyan fled Kyiv with his young son and wife for the US. He remained there for two years before saying publicly from 2024 that he was living with his family in Slovakia. The alleged hit plot comes as Poland battles an intensifying wave of Russian espionage, sabotage and so-called “greyzone” warfare. Polish security officials say the country is now facing daily hostile incidents, with cyberattacks having rocketed since Russia’s full-scale invasion. The sinister campaign has already included the murder of Russian satirical artist Semyon Skrepetsky in Poland, sabotage of a crucial railway route linking Warsaw with the east and a Russian cruise missile crashing in the Lublin region. Skrepetsky, a fierce critic of Putin, was gunned down on June 15 in Biała Podlaska in the Lublin Voivodeship. His attacker allegedly walked up and fired twice before stepping closer and unleashing three more shots at point-blank range as the stricken artist lay on the ground. Now the thwarted plot against Dadyan has thrust Poland into the crosshairs of an increasingly brazen Kremlin espionage war. Comment now
