Spank room, sex cinema & Batman in the buff – I went inside wild Naughty Norfolk’s swingers night close to royal estate

TUCKED away in the middle of an industrial estate in leafy Norfolk is a seemingly inconspicuous shabby green unit. But rather than housing farming machinery, it hosts Naughty Norfolk’s ‘Dirty Disney, Heroes and Villains’ swingers sex party – and I was granted AAA to this wild night out. As I slip into my Alice in Wonderland fancy dress outfit, Katt laughs and says: “You can’t wear that, you look like Florence Nightingale!” Shaking her head, she hands me a skimpy pink Princess Aurora dress from Sleeping Beauty instead – or, as she cheekily dubs it, “Whore-ora”. After a few “saucy shots and swaps” we’ll be making our way to the princess-themed night The Annex, the only swinging club in the region. Ironically, it’s a few miles away from the Sandringham Estate, the country home of King Charles and Queen Camilla and the Prince and Princess of Wales. Meanwhile, Queen of the swingers Katt is busy preparing a royal banquet in the kitchen when she is interrupted by her “play partner” – who has other things on his mind. Rolling her eyes, she turns to her pal and says, “do me a favour, go with Rob please.” The pal obliges and the pair disappear upstairs. Suitably stuffed, our carriage arrives a few hours later, whisking us off to the unlikely venue. From the outside, you’d never guess what goes on behind its doors – but every local I spoke to in Lynn seems to know exactly what lurks inside. On the way, Katt tells me how Rob isn’t joining us tonight as he’s celebrating his wedding anniversary with his wife. “I don’t get jealous,” she explains. “They’re in a polyamorous relationship. His wife calls me all the time. I’d get more upset if he went around other women’s houses and put some shelves up. That would be crossing a boundary but sex is fine.” At the door, we’re greeted by club owner VJ, 57, who has been running The Annex for 14 years. “We get all walks of life here,” she explains. “From teachers to lawyers to bin men, it’s a leveller. Once you’re in here, everyone’s nervous, everyone’s in the boat. “Everybody’s the same once they walk in that door. It doesn’t matter. If you’re a multimillionaire or if you’re not, and in fact, sometimes if you walk in and you try to be snobby, that’s when you get frozen out.” She tells me how she used to work in the mental health services but Tory cuts meant she had to find a new career. “Basically David Cameron got rid of all the counsellors and therapists,” she continues. “I needed something to do, and this is the next best thing to therapy.” Guests fully embraced the fancy dress theme at The Annex – before many clothes came off Credit: Olivia West Georgie spoke to club owner VJ, 57, who has been running The Annex for 14 years Credit: Olivia West VJ – who has been in the lifestyle for 20 years – gives me a tour inside. The club hosts a mixed bag of events and the next Naughty Norfolk night will be held in November. Tickets are £30 each and the venue had an 80 person capacity. You can turn up alone of in a couple, and if you’re a walk in you just need to show ID. VJ told me: “The most important thing is to not just know your own boundaries, but to also know what your partner’s boundaries are. “And know what the signs are if they’re not happy, so you can get out. You’re in this to enhance your life, not anybody else’s. “So don’t go away wishing you’d done more, wishing you’d gone further, wishing you’d fulfilled more fantasies. Absolutely go at it like rabbits. Don’t go home with regrets.” Mike and Debs are ‘friends who play together’ at the raunchy event Credit: Olivia West The raunchy club is located just over 10 miles from the Sandringham Estate, the country home of King Charles and Prince William Credit: PA:Press Association Being locked in a cage for pleasure The Annex has several playrooms, a red room with an inviting hot tub in it, a BDSM-themed room catered for spanking, another play room with a pole in the middle and a cage. Upstairs, there’s a sex cinema – playing naughty films. The walls are adorned with erotic pictures of naked women and couples intertwined with one another. I get to grips with the pole, attempting to learn a few moves from the swingers, before Katt makes an unexpected request – she wants me to lock her in a cage. I can’t help but giggle as I close the door, while she teaches me the ropes of BDSM. She tells me the venue had hosted a spanking party earlier that day, running from 1pm to 5pm. Katt suggests I try a saucy shot – and it’s certainly not your average tequila ritual. Instead of licking the salt from my hand, I lick it from her neck before downing the tequila and taking the lemon from her lips using mine. I give it a go, and a bloke nearby tells us: “Wow, that’s hot.” Naked Batman showed off his superpower Behind us, “Batman” is completely in the buff, wearing nothing but a superhero-themed c**k ring that looks like it could launch itself at any moment. For such a skinny bloke, he certainly seems to have surprised the women with his impressive manhood. “I wasn’t expecting that,” one woman giggles. “He’s definitely a shower.” Naughty Norfolk founder Katt showed Georgie around the party Credit: Olivia West One of the several playrooms at the swinging event with a large bed Credit: Olivia West I have to admit, I’ve never seen anything quite like it – which perhaps explains why he’s proudly showing off his, ahem, biggest superpower. Another equally stunned woman asks how big he is. He confidently replies: “Eight inches.” But the women aren’t convinced. “More like 12 surely,” one declares. Someone even tries to find a ruler so we can settle this highly scientific debate once and for all. Sadly, stationery clearly isn’t on the essential-equipment list at a swingers’ party. Outside, in the smoking areas, couples kiss and women stroke one another’s thighs – comparing their stockings. “Mine keeps rolling down so I’ve tucked them into my boots,” a woman tells me. “I doubt they’ll be on much longer anyway.” Here, I meet Ruth, 57, and Jim, 65, from Lincolnshire, who work in the food industry. Ruth tells me how they got into swinging a few years ago to “spice things up a bit”. I said, ‘Why don’t we join a swingers’ club?’ And that’s how it all started. “We play with other couples and I’ve met single men, but we usually play together. We’ve been here three times now. It’s local, everyone is really friendly and welcoming, and we always have a great time.” Nearby, I spot Spider-Man weaving his way through the crowd. He admits he’s feeling pretty nervous – it’s his first time at a swingers’ club. Dressed head-to-toe in Lycra, he’s also starting to feel the heat, so he’s stepped outside for some fresh air and a chance to cool down. I ask if he’s spotted anyone he’d like to get caught in his web later. He grins and tells me: “A few.” The Annex welcomes ‘all walks of life’ with owner VJ calling it ‘a leveller’ Credit: Olivia West The Annex is located just 10 mins – roughly a 20-minute drive – from the Sandringham Estate Swinging is ‘so much more’ than just sex Nearby, Mike, 47, a dad and landscaper, who is dressed as Duffman from The Simpsons, tells me how he’s only been in the lifestyle for four months after going through a difficult break up. “I came into the lifestyle quite gingerly and then I thought I’d just go for it and went to four events in a row and I haven’t looked back,” he tells me. “I had two long term relationships and dedicated everything I had to them. So now playing with lots of new partners is a new thing for me. “Becoming a swinger has made me a lot less shallow. I used to only get with women who looked a certain way but the lifestyle is full of different shapes and sizes and it’s made me appreciate everything.” It was this shy Spiderman’s first time at the sex party, but he got stuck into the action Credit: Olivia West Georgie, clad in a Sleeping Beauty-inspired dress, in the hot tub playroom at the Norfolk venue Credit: Olivia West Mike tells me how the lifestyle is “so much more” than just sex. “Tomorrow night a group of us are having a Chinese takeaway. We enjoy each other’s company, in and out of the bedroom.” For the first few hours, everyone is mainly mingling and, for a moment, I almost forget where I am. Then I spot three people slipping into the hot tub, kissing each other, while nearby a rather risqué scene is unfolding in one of the playrooms. I still haven’t found my Prince Charming and eventually it’s time for me to bid farewell to this rather unusual kingdom and head back to my castle. I try to find Katt to thank her for inviting us, but she’s nowhere to be seen. Then I hear the crack of a whip coming from the dungeon. I peek inside and spot her stretched out on a sex bench, enjoying a spanking. I decide not to interrupt – she looks far too happy. So I quietly slip out of the party and head back to my castle, ready for bed. Sadly, there’s no happy ending for this princess tonight.
