After working for an indie game studio and acting as the family's go-to technician for all computer issues, he found his passion for writing and decided to use his skill set to write about all things tech. Since beginning his writing career, he has written for many different publications such as WorldStart, Listverse, and MakeTechEasier. However, after finding his home at MakeUseOf in February 2019, he would eventually move on to its sister site, XDA, to bring the latest and greatest in Windows, Linux, and DIY electronics. Built with Claude, it adds real glass, doors and dents, lighting tweaks, blood puddles, and voiceovers. Try GTA2 RTX Upgraded 1.1 on GitHub - requires your GTA2 copy, an RTX GPU, and RTX Remix. Well, it's just over two weeks until GTA 6 hits the gaming scene. Still, when you're waiting for something exciting, two weeks feels like an eternity. So, why not tide yourself over with an older GTA game? Someone has taken an RTX Remix mod for GTA 2, added a bit of Claude to it, and made something that looks stunning for a 1999 game. GTA 2 RTX Upgraded makes the 20th-century classic shine once more It's a cool way to check out how the GTA series grew over the years Over on the ClaudeGameDev subreddit, user kirmm3la showed off what they've been working on with the aid of Claude. It's a revamp of Grand Theft Auto 2 which adds some really nice visuals and quality-of-life features that really make the 27-year-old title pop. You can check it out in the video above; if I didn't know better, I would assume it was a small-scale indie game that released this year. Here's how kirmm3la describes the project: "Had a lot of fun upgrading gebdag's GTA 2 RTX Remix mod. I'm not a programmer, so I built this with Claude. What it adds: HD car textures with PBR materials, real glass, doors and dents, light improvements, blood puddles and mission voiceovers. The game is still a very solid experience." If you want to try it, check out the GTA 2 RTX Upgraded 1.1 GitHub repo forinstructions and files. You will need your own copy of GTA 2, an RTX card, and RTX Remix, so keep that in mind before you jump in.
