Some Of Magic's Most Expensive Commander Decks Spark Reprint Rumors

New Rumors Suggest Warhammer MTG Commander Decks Are Being Reprinted Published Oct 5, 2026, 8:38 AM EDT Niall (pronounced Ny-ul) is a UK-based writer who has been writing about Magic: The Gathering throughout his entire career, with everything from new set breakdowns and individual deck guides to offering his opinions on the state of formats and the general direction of the iconic TCG. Niall also has a rich history covering triple-A releases, sports games, and PC hardware. The prices of certain Magic: The Gathering Commander decks have become eye-watering, and in most cases, it's because of limited print runs or age. We recently looked at the most expensive Commander decks that your money could buy, and it was no surprise to see the list full of Secret Lair and Commander 2017 options. However, a notable inclusion on this list was three of the four Warhammer 40K Commander precons, which had become highly desirable due to their limited availability and seemingly absent reprint run. Well, according to Magic YouTuber Joel are Magic, local game stores are being given the option to order stock of these decks, meaning a full reprint run may be coming soon. Magic x Warhammer Reprints Coming Soon? In his latest mailbag video, Joel are Magic takes questions from his viewers on a range of topics. Joel has previously mentioned this rumor of stores being able to order stock of the Warhammer 40K Commander precons rather casually, and a reader pressed him on the topic after claiming to have recently spent $199 on the Necron deck. In response, Joel doubles down, saying stores he's spoken to tell him they can order new stock of the Warhammer 40K Commander decks. He even says more sources have confirmed this since he first shared the news. Crucially, Joel states he hasn't seen these order forms firsthand and is relying entirely on what the store owners he is talking to tell him. Joel also doesn't offer any predictions or rumors about the delivery date for these decks, only that stores can order them from "multiple distributors." Given how stacked 2026 has been for Commander decks, with Star Trek still to come and the rumored Spider-Man deck, we don't need another four re-releases this year, so for the sake of our wallets, we hope these decks show up in 2027. What Will Happen To Warhammer Deck Prices With A Reprint? The big question now is what will happen to the prices of Warhammer 40K sealed decks if a reprint is announced. Well, we might already be seeing the impact of this rumor, as the prices for three of the four decks are currently in quite a substantial decline. Listed below is the value of each deck at the end of July versus the value today: The Ruinous Powers - WAS: $376, NOW: $279 Necron Dynasties - WAS: $411, NOW: $357 Forces of the Imperium - WAS $327, NOW: $315 Tyranid Swarm - WAS: $336, NOW: $302 Prices are taken from TCGPlayer's market value. One key factor to consider is that there is no confirmation this is even happening yet, but the prices steadily declining over two months does indicate people are reducing the price for some reason, despite demand seemingly being as high as ever. It also remains to be seen whether the collector's edition variants will be reprinted as well, or just the base decks. These special editions are printed entirely as surge foils and are worth as much as double the base decks' MSRP. Given that the collector's decks have mostly grown in value rather than declined, this again suggests they won't bereprinted alongside the main decks, if true.
