The performance sedan had sold out its first batch of 100 cars last year, highlighting the strong demand for the RS badge among Indian enthusiasts despite its premium positioning. The new batch is expected to reach customers around the start of the festive season.The Octavia RS will continue to be sold as a completely built-up unit (CBU), the sedan was launched on November 13 for Rs 49.99 lakh (ex-showroom) . Skoda will offer the performance sedan in three exterior colours, Mamba Green, Velvet Red and Magic Black.Existing customers get priorityPre-bookings for the second batch open on August 18 at 8pm, with a booking amount of Rs 2.5 lakh. Customers who had reserved the Octavia RS during the previous allocation but could not secure a car will get first access to the new booking window until 5pm on August 19. Bookings will subsequently open to other customers, subject to the 50-unit allocation.Octavia RS engine and performancePowering the Octavia RS is a 2.0-litre TSI turbo-petrol engine developing 265bhp and 370Nm. The engine is paired with a seven-speed DSG automatic gearbox and sends power to the front wheels. Skoda claims a 0-100kmph acceleration time of 6.7 seconds. The front-wheel-drive setup is supported by an electronic differential lock (VAQ), while adaptive chassis control (DCC) and progressive steering allow the driver to alter the car's responses across different driving modes.Sportier exterior and cabinThe RS gets a more aggressive appearance than the standard Octavia, with a gloss-black grille, black exterior elements, RS badging and a sportier aerodynamic package. LED Matrix headlights, 19-inch alloy wheels and a rear spoiler further distinguish the performance variant. Inside, the cabin features RS-specific sports seats with red stitching, aluminium pedals and a three-spoke multifunction steering wheel. Equipment includes a 10.25-inch Virtual Cockpit, 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless SmartLink and ambient lighting.Safety equipment includes 10 airbags, lane assist, adaptive cruise control and a range of ADAS functions, including collision avoidance assist, emergency braking and park assist.
