Six youths arrested over alleged assaults in Hobart CBD

(ABC News: Jake Grant)Six youths aged between 12 and 13 years have been arrested after members of the public were allegedly assaulted in central Hobart on Saturday.Tasmania Police said it received reports shortly before 4:30pm that a "group of youths" was involved in a disturbance, and several members of the public had been assaulted.Police went to the scene and arrested the six young people. They said no one was physically injured in the incident.The youths were taken to the Hobart Police Station and were released into the care of parents or guardians."Tasmania Police would like to thank the members of the public who intervened and assisted the victims during the incident," police said.Anyone with further information or mobile phone footage of the incident is encouraged to contact Hobart police or report anonymously to Crime Stoppers.
