Six killed, 12 injured as Hyderabad-Eluru electric bus rams into container truck near Suryapet

The journey had begun from Hyderabad at around 12.25 a.m.The bus was carrying 42 passengers, excluding the driver and co-driver, according to preliminary information from the Munagala police. The container truck was also travelling in the same direction and was carrying aluminium electric poles.“The bus was allegedly travelling at high speed and the driver was attempting to overtake another vehicle when it rammed into the rear of the container truck. The impact caused the aluminium poles to enter the bus, crushing the driver and the portion of the passenger compartment on the driver’s side,” explained an officer from the Mungala police.Six passengers died in the accident, while 12 others sustained injuries. One of the injured, a woman, suffered serious head injuries.The injured passengers were rescued and shifted to the Government Hospital in Kodad for treatment. He also instructed officials to extend all necessary assistance to the victims and their families.Irrigation Minister N. Uttam Kumar Reddy also expressed shock over the accident and extended his sympathies to the families of those who lost their lives. He instructed district officials to ensure prompt and quality medical care for the injured and closely monitor the rescue and relief efforts. Meanwhile, Kodad MLA N.
