Plans also incorporated common infrastructure, worker housing, testing facilities and skill-development infrastructure. Coordinated efforts with departments concerned were made for water, power and external road connectivity, and necessary comfort letters obtained.Mr. Srinivasa Rao urged the government to prioritise chemical and petrochemical parks along the Visakhapatnam–Chennai PCPIR corridor, citing the region’s ports, sea routes and the newly launched Visakhapatnam-Bhogapuram International Airport. He said such parks could strengthen pharmaceutical and downstream industries by improving domestic availability of raw materials. He also sought common effluent treatment plants, worker housing, testing and quality-control centres, skill-development facilities and a transparent accident insurance and compensation mechanism for industrial workers.Unused land allotmentsMeanwhile, senior MLA Somireddy Chandramohan Reddy suggested that the State government withdraw unused lands given to industries, stating that some of the companies didn't commence operations despite holding lands for decades. Such lands could be used for other purposes or allocated to new companies for development of the State, he added. In response, Mr. Bharath said the government would examine the suggestions and take appropriate action after conducting necessary reviews.
