The police have also arrested those who provided weapons and arranged vehicles for the accused. | Image for representation | Photo Credit: BrianAJackson The Hubballi police arrested six persons on Monday (August 31) in connection with the murder of a man in broad daylight in Hubballi and remanded the accused in judicial custody on Tuesday (September 1).The accused, identified as Virendra Talakal, Deepak Chalavadi, Shakuntala Talakal, Rakshit Bandiwaddar, Taufeeq Horakeri and Farooq Naragund. The deceased is Dadapeer Udaykar, 35. According to the police, this was an act of vengeance. Dadapeer was accused in the murder of Maruti Talakal in Hubballi in 2015 and also become a suspect in the death of Raju Chalavadi in an accident in Dharwad rural area in 2023. However, Dadapeer was cleared of the charges by the court and shifted to Bogenagarakoppa in Kalaghatagi taluk, where he took up farming. However, family members of the two deceased men were reportedly waiting to take revenge, and after monitoring his movements for months, they carried out the murder in broad daylight on August 28, the police said.The Preliminary investigation has revealed that the prime accused, Virendra Talakal, wanted to avenge his brother’s murder. Soon after carrying out the murder, he informed his mother, who reportedly gave him money and advised him to abscond. The accused persons had subsequently shaved their heads to conceal their identity.The police have also arrested those who provided weapons and arranged vehicles for the accused.
