The death toll was confirmed by the Department of Social Welfare and Development in a statement, adding that social workers were offering psychological support to those affected. Footage on social media showed a classroom floor covered in blood as police cleared the school grounds. A separate video showed terrified children reuniting with their families after being evacuated from the school.
