Saudi-led coalition air strikes killed 27 people, most of them women and children, in Yemen’s Sanaa province, the Houthis said on Saturday. The Houthi-run health ministry told the group’s Saba news agency that 36 people were also wounded in the strikes on the village of Al-Shariya. Saba reported earlier on Saturday that rescuers were still recovering victims from the rubble, and that warplanes had struck paramedics twice. The Houthis, meanwhile, said they had carried out six missile and drone operations against Saudi targets in the kingdom and inside Yemen, including Aramco oil facilities, Riyadh airport, and Saudi troops and military positions on both sides of the border. The Saudi-led coalition said on Saturday it had intercepted and destroyed a Houthi missile fired towards Riyadh province. Separately, Yemeni government forces announced that they had struck 875 Houthi sites and gatherings in the past few hours as part of an offensive they call Operation Dawn of Yemen, which they say aims to retake Houthi-held territory, including the capital, Sanaa. On Friday, an attack on a market in Taiz province killed 30 people. The Houthis blamed Saudi air strikes, while government forces accused the group of firing a ballistic missile at the site.
