The Saudi embassy in the US said that Washington's recent plan to sell F-35 warplanes is a reflection of the "strength and enduring nature" of their partnership. "The proposed F-35 sale reflects the strength and enduring nature of the Saudi-U.S. strategic partnership and the continued advancement of our defense cooperation," it said in a post on X. "For decades, Saudi-U.S. security cooperation has contributed to regional stability, strengthened our collective defense capabilities, and advanced our shared security interests." Earlier, the US State Department has notified Congress that it plans to sell Saudi Arabia up to 48 F-35 warplanes, in a move that has been widely opposed by Israel.
