Samsung just pushed back One UI 9 by a week

I delight in looking at the phone market from as many angles as possible, and while my opinions may be odd, at times, they're always from the heart as much as the head. However, it seems those dates have changed, and One UI 9 will not appear on the Samsung Galaxy S26 until a week later than previously expected. The Samsung Galaxy S26 won't get One UI 9 until next week at the earliest Bad news for those waiting for new toys Last week, a blog post from Samsung Thailand told Thai Samsung fans they could expect the range to get One UI on September 21, with the Galaxy S25 and Galaxy Z 7 range following shortly after, on September 28. Now, it appears that timeframe has shifted (via Android Authority). As spotted by Tarun Vats, the dates on the blog post have been edited. The new schedule has the S26 range getting the One UI 9 update a week later, on September 28. That's the same date as the S25 and Z Fold and Flip 7, and it seems so far that those dates haven't changed. The reason for the sudden change isn't known, but it's presumed there were some bugs Samsung wanted to iron out before a wider release. It's worth remembering that One UI 9 has already hit phones in Korea, so it's possible it noticed some problems that it wanted to fix before a wider release. As mentioned in the prior article, we don't actually know whether these dates specifically only apply to Thai Samsung devices or not. However, Canadians are also expected to get One UI 9 on a similar date, so for the moment we're happy to assume these are dates for a worldwide rollout. Is One UI 9 worth waiting for? Z Fold 8 and Flip 8 owners would be able to tell you better, since they're some of the lucky few to already have the updated OS. In short, One UI 9 comes with new tools, and a bunch of new customization options, including the ability to rearrange your Quick Panel, and create new cards. How much value you'll get out of the update will depend on how much you intend to use these new features, of course. Speaking personally, I've barely even glanced at the new features in One UI 9 in my , and honestly don't think I'd notice if they weren't there. So, in my opinion, don't sweat too much about this delay, as the stuff in it are very much in the "nice to have" pile.
