The Kyiv City Military Administration (KMVA) confirmed the blaze was caused by the Russian attack. In the northern Obolonskyi district, a warehouse building also caught fire, while debris fell in an open area at another location. The renewed assault followed hours of Russian attacks on Kyiv throughout Wednesday involving ballistic missiles and jet-powered drones. Earlier Sept. 30, two women, aged 46 and 95, were killed when a Russian drone struck a private home. A third victim, an employee of municipal utility Kyivteploenergo, was killed when a drone hit a warehouse in the Solomianskyi district. At least seven people were wounded. The attacks repeatedly reached residential areas. In Obolonskyi, a Russian jet-powered drone clipped the roof of a nine-story apartment building before crashing near a children’s playground without detonating. President Volodymyr Zelensky said air raid alerts had continued for almost the entire day in Kyiv and other Ukrainian cities, with the threat from jet-powered Shahed-type drones following overnight ballistic missile attacks.
