Russian Strike Hits 19-Story Odesa Apartment Block, Injures Three Including Child

A Russian overnight strike hit a 19-story residential building in Odesa early Thursday, Sept. 17, injuring at least three people, including a three-year-old child. The Odesa City Military Administration said the attack damaged the high-rise apartment building, with several floors heavily affected. All three injured residents were receiving medical assistance, according to Serhii Lysak, head of the city military administration. The three-year-old child was among those wounded in the attack. An emergency coordination center was established at the site to assist residents affected by the strike. Odesa, Ukraine’s main Black Sea port, has faced repeated Russian drone and missile attacks in recent weeks, including strikes on residential buildings and other civilian infrastructure. The Sept. 17 attack came just days after another large-scale Russian assault on Odesa and the surrounding region damaged residential buildings and left dozens injured.
