Russian attack disrupts Kyiv’s South Bridge and metro service

Russian strikes on Kyiv overnight into Tuesday, Oct. 27, prompted traffic restrictions on the South (Pivdennyi) Bridge, a major transport crossing connecting the capital’s eastern and western banks of the Dnipro River. The Kyiv City Military Administration (KMVA) announced the restrictions following the attack and warned residents to account for disruptions when planning their journeys.JOIN US ON TELEGRAMFollow our coverage of the war on the @Kyivpost_official. Service on the Green (Syretsko-Pecherska) metro line was also disrupted, with trains operating separately between Syrets and Vydubychi stations and between Osokorky and Chervonyi Khutir, according to the KMVA. The South Bridge carries both road traffic and a section of the Green Line, making it a critical connection across the Dnipro. The disruption follows repeated Russian attacks on the crossing earlier in October, including strikes that damaged metro infrastructure and forced temporary suspensions of road and rail traffic. In a separate development overnight, Mayor Vitali Klitschko reported that Russian ballistic strikes hit an administrative building in Kyiv’s Podilskyi district and non-residential buildings at two other locations. The latest attack followed Monday evening’s missile strikes on a university campus and residential neighborhoods, which killed one person and injured 10 others, most of them students.
