Russia Hits 2 Gas Stations on Kyiv-Lviv M06 Highway

Russia struck two gas stations on the M06 highway in Zvyahel, Zhytomyr region, on Monday morning.The highway connects Kyiv and western Ukraine’s Lviv, ultimately leading to the city of Chop on the Hungarian border. This time, a gas station on the M06 highway in the suburb of Zvyahel was hit,” Vitaliy Bunechko, the governor of the Zhytomyr region, wrote on Facebook, at around 11 a.m.He later said a WOG station in the same area was also targeted.“This morning, a gas station in Zvyahelskyi district of Zhytomyr region has come under enemy attack for the second time,” Bunechko wrote in a subsequent update at around noon.“According to operational information, this time a WOG gas station was damaged,” he added.The Zhytomyr region borders the Kyiv region to the west, with Russian attacks relatively rare compared to the capital and its surrounding region.The latest gas station strikes came as Russia began targeting gas stations across Ukraine, with those in Kyiv also recently coming under attack.
