RuneScape Animated Series With MoistCr1tikal Revealed At RuneFest

RuneFest 2026 Reveals RuneScape 4 And Massive Franchise Roadmaps Published Oct 3, 2026, 4:00 PM EDT Nazmul Roosevelt is a journalist who has spent years covering the video games industry with a focus on clarity, accessibility, and genuine curiosity. He works to help players understand the people, craft, and decisions behind the entertainment they love. From game developers, to the technical artists, and communities shaping modern gaming; if you have a story worth sharing, he’s always open to hearing it... And if you happen to know anything about that secret Twin Peaks game in development, he’d especially like to talk. RuneFest 2026 was full of huge reveals for the RuneScape franchise. More than 6,000 fans packed into the NEC in Birmingham to share their passion for the MMO, and the whole event opened with a full orchestral performance from the Manchester Video Game Orchestra and Mod Ash. The weekend was all about celebrating the past twenty‑five years of RuneScape, while Jagex provided clear, detailed presentations of what's next for Gielinor. The biggest reveal was the announcement of the fourth MMO in the RuneScape universe. It is still early in development, but Jagex confirmed it is being built in Unreal Engine and designed for a new generation of players. The team wants to keep the depth, freedom, and community‑driven feel that RuneScape has always had, while giving the world a fresh coat of paint and new possibilities. You can check out the 4K trailer of RuneScape 4 just below. The New Era Of RuneScape Content Reaches Fans Old And New Dragonwilds Grows, Core RuneScape Reignites, And A New Animated Series Unfolds Alongside that huge reveal, Jagex also announced an animated series of RuneScape, created with Charles White Jr. (MoistCr1TiKaL, who recently played Sonar in Dispatch) and Lyrical Media. The series will bring Gielinor’s mythology to a fresh audience, utilizing a similar format other fantasy games like Dragon's Dogma and Castlevania have used for their adaptations. Core RuneScape itself is heading into a major new chapter with RuneScape Reignited, launching December 2. It offers a remastered journey, a fresh economy, new hi scores, and a player‑first focus meant to bring veterans and newcomers together. Players will get full access from December 2 to December 12, and the long‑requested Plugin API arrives this month. Jagex also outlined three major story arcs for 2027, including Hoard of Dragons, City of Gnomes, and Secrets of Karamja, along with an agility rework, new bosses, new areas, and a new Grandmaster Quest. Old School RuneScape also has a busy roadmap. The Fractured Archive raid launches in just a few weeks on October 20th, then that's followed by the opening of Menaphos in 2027 with Fool’s Gold, Old School’s first Skilling Dungeon, and the Soul Altar. Hardcore Worlds then arrives November 4, offering a high‑stakes mode with a fresh economy and faction‑based competition. The 2027 lineup also includes the continuation of the Fairytale questline, Quest Month, Dungeons of Gielinor, a Mining and Smithing rework, Chosen Commander, and the mysterious Tower of Xorphoros. RuneScape: Dragonwilds also received details for upcoming major updates, including Luminance in December and the Blood Crystal Saga beginning in early 2027. Quarterly updates will introduce new skills, quests, areas, and decorations, and official modding arrives next year through a partnership with CurseForge. Even with all the announcements packed into RuneFest this year, what stands out most is how much variety Jagex is building into the future of every pillar. The thing I'm most excited about is the animated series. Video game adaptations have found a space in animated adaptations, and RuneScape’s tone is suitable for a comfort fantasy show that blends familiar locations with the coziness and charm that has kept the game populated for twenty‑five years.
