Ruby and Joe aftermath and new killer emerges as Emmerdale spoilers confirm what happens next

Ruby’s fate revealed – but a twist follows (Picture: ITV / Metro) The scales well and truly fell from Joe Tate’s (Ned Porteous) eyes in Emmerdale as the real culprit responsible for the death of Dawn Taylor (Olivia Bromley) emerged from the shadows. Joe, as viewers know, hasn’t been coping very well following the death of his beloved Dawn, who died last month on their wedding day. Jimmy King’s (Nick Miles) car crashed through the marquee where the ceremony was meant to take place, with subsequently Dawn taken to hospital where, after delivering her and Joe’s baby, she died in emotional scenes. Joe held Caleb and Ruby Miligan (William Ash and Beth Cordingly) responsible for the crime since they had attempted to destroy the wedding by having Dawn flee. And he sought brutal revenge this week, burying Ruby alive. Caleb was horrified when he realised what Joe done and begged for him to free Ruby before she ran out of air. Graham Foster (Andrew Scarborough) was similarly appalled and, after having a word with his employer, he found the location of where Joe had buried Ruby – and successfully saved her life. Joe had Ruby buried alive (Picture: ITV) But the shocks just kept on coming, with Joe receiving a visit from Vinny Dingle (Bradley Johnson), who confessed to being the driver of the car that drove Jimmy off the road – meaning he is essentially to blame for Dawn’s demise. Elsewhere, Gabby Thomas’ (Rosie Bentham) big secret is outed by Nicola King (Nicola Wheeler), who reveals to everyone that she was on the phone to Vinny, who caused the crash. And Kim (Claire King) visits Joe’s baby in the hospital, promising to do everything she can to keep the family together – just like Dawn did. The question is: will she succeed?
