Robert Pattinson returns as the Caped Crusader. Following Superman's huge success in 1938, Bob Kane and Bill Finger created Batman, who first debuted in Detective Comics #27. The character has undergone many adaptations, transitioning from 1940s comics to campy series, and now gritty blockbusters. After Ben Affleck's portrayal, many were left wondering who would be the next person to take on one of the biggest and most beloved heroes known around the world. Pattinson rose from small indie roles to a major Hollywood star and is taking over the 2026 box office. However, in between major roles, he is finally returning as the iconic DC hero and the world's greatest detective, Batman. Matt Reeves' sequel, The Batman Part II, has already begun production in the UK, with recent sightings in London, England. Eagle-eyed fans were able to capture Pattinson's first moments on set as he officially returned to the iconic role. Click here to see Robert Pattinson filming The Batman Part II. The actor is shown facing an angry mob of citizens as Bruce Wayne, not as Batman. However, the reason for the anger is yet to be revealed, with filmmaker Reeves keeping the majority of the plot completely secret, including which characters from the Gotham universe could make their appearance throughout the sequel. Bruce is shown being escorted by security while he's dressed in formal wear, walking through the crowd while extras held signs stating "Your greed is killing us," "cop killer," and "death to billionaires." The cast for The Batman Part II includes Sebastian Stan, Scarlett Johansson, Colin Farrell, Brian Tyree Henry, Charles Dance, Sebastian Koch, Andy Serkis, Jeffrey Wright, Jayme Lawson, and Gil Perez-Abraham. Reeves has yet to reveal which characters Stan, Johannson, Dance, Koch, and Henry will be portraying. There have been many theories circulating for Stan's role, including Harvey Dent/Two-Face or Victor Zsasz, with Johansson theories suggesting Poison Ivy or Vicki Vale. At the time of writing, it has yet to be confirmed exactly who the new additions will be portraying, as theories also suggest the Court of Owls could be arriving in Gotham. After many unfortunate delays, the upcoming and highly anticipated movie won't be released until February 18, 2028, as Pattinson immerses himself into the role of Batman while fans eagerly await more news surrounding The Batman Part II and what everyone can expect from the DC movie.
