Yet De Zerbi has put the block on last season’s top-scorer being brought back in from the cold. Sign up for the Football newsletter Thank you! The Spurs chief said: “Richarlison, you already know everything, nothing changed for the Carabao Cup or Premier League. The situation is the same.” Asked if that meant the ex-Everton man would not be involved at Anfield, the Italian simply replied: “No.” De Zerbi revealed last month that Richarlison had asked to leave in the summer and snubbed a contract extension. Spurs saw fit to omit the forward from their Premier League squad – despite him netting 11 Prem goals last term – and attempted to sell him. But moves to Everton, Trabzonspor and, most recently, Vasco da Gama in Brazil all fell through over personal terms. Now there is a good chance Richarlison will be stuck at Spurs until January. It’s not right if I explained (the specifics of what has gone on). It’s not my behaviour. “Is the relationship and the problem is with the player and the club. And I stay inside of the club. “It’s coach and club together because at the start of this season, I spoke with him many times to convince him to stay and he didn’t want to. “I can’t go every day to pray for him to stay.” Meanwhile, Sandro Tonali is out of the Liverpool game having picked up a knock. Long-term absentee Dejan Kulusevski is still not ready and Pedro Porro misses out again with a fitness issue, but Destiny Udogie is back. De Zerbi is set to rotate his squad for the trip to Anfield.
