Revanth says fight for India is between ‘Gandhi Parivar and Sangh Parivar’

Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy described the country's political contest as a fight between the ‘Gandhi Parivar and Sangh Parivar’ and said the ‘new political breeze’ emerging from Kerala after the Congress victory would become a storm across the country.Addressing a gathering after receiving the Aryadan Muhammed–2026 Best Public Servant Award in Nilambur, Kerala, on Friday, he alleged that the BJP and the Sangh Parivar were dividing the country along religious, caste, regional and linguistic lines.In contrast, he said the Gandhi family represented sacrifice, recalling the assassinations of former Prime Ministers Indira Gandhi and Rajiv Gandhi and saying that Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi had given up opportunities for positions of power. “History is calling. Rahul Gandhi has to become PM and save India from communal forces,” he said.The award is given in memory of former Kerala Minister Aryadan Muhammed, a veteran Congress leader who had served as an MLA eight times. Mr. Revanth Reddy is the first person from outside Kerala to be chosen for it. He received the award from Congress general secretary K.C. Venugopal.Mr. Revanth Reddy said his only remaining political ambition was to see Congress leader Rahul Gandhi become the Prime Minister. “I have no personal ambition. In 20 years, I have seen everything — ZPTC, MLC, MLA, MP, PCC president and Chief Minister. My only dream left is to make Rahul Gandhi the Prime Minister of India,” he said.The Chief Minister also alleged ‘vote ki chori, party ki chori, symbol ki chori and funds ki chori’, targeting the BJP, and said the future of the youth and the foundations of democracy were at stake.He sought to draw a link between electoral changes in Kerala and political developments at the Centre. Referring to the Congress victories in Kerala in earlier periods, he said the political wind from the State had now started blowing again.Mr. Revanth Reddy recalled his association with Kerala during Mr. Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Yatra and the Assembly election campaign.
