When it was first announced that Weapons director Zach Cregger was going to be making a movie based on Resident Evil, pretty much everyone agreed that it was a match made in heaven. Cregger’s unique style and sense of humour seemed perfect for the Resi-verse, especially if it was something original and not just a retelling. That mindset stayed the same for most people, but there were some who doubted the movie and felt like it wasn’t worthy of the series’ name, which clearly had an effect on Cregger throughout the press tour. If you were one of those people, then you might not want to check how highly rated Resident Evil is on Rotten Tomatoes. Just below that is Werewolves Within at 86, and The Angry Birds Movie 2 at 72 percent, which sort of shows that the bar was never really that high.
