Yesterday’s Nintendo Direct was a packed showcase that had plenty of announcements and reveals, but one of the nicest surprises was the long-awaited confirmation of the Resident Evil remakes getting Switch 2 ports. Resident Evil 2, Resident Evil 3, and Resident Evil 4 are all coming to the console in just a month’s time. Two out of three of those games are true 10/10 masterpieces that stand as some of the best Resident Evil games of all time. I am, of course, talking about Resi 2 and Resi 4 there, as Resident Evil 3’s remake is pretty underwhelming, especially compared to the others. It turns out that Capcom seems to think that as well. Resident Evil 3’s Switch 2 Port Is Far Cheaper Than The Others This Isn’t The First Time, Either Following the reveal of the Resident Evil remake Switch 2 ports coming in October, pre-orders for all three games went live on the Nintendo eShop. Ignoring the sale that’s currently going on, Resident Evil 2 is priced at $39.99 while Resident Evil 4 is priced at $49.99, which makes sense considering it’s the newest and biggest game of the bunch. As pointed out by Twitter user niikiilol, the price differences get really noticeable with Resident Evil 3, which is the cheapest of the bunch at $29.99. Resident Evil 3 isn’t even that much shorter than the other games, but it’s clearly valued the least overall. That’s been the fan perception for some time, but now we know Capcom is aware of it too. Come on, though, even the worst Resident Evil remake is still a good game! Funnily enough, this isn’t the first time that Resident Evil 3’s remake has been priced rather noticeably. Earlier this year when the original Resident Evil 3 appeared on Steam, a sale made it so that the remake was somehow cheaper than the game that inspired it. Capcom are clearly pretty hung up on the remake, especially with everything else it touches turning to gold.
