‘Reimagining Keralam’ workshop at IIM-Kozhikode concludes

Satheesan receiving a certificate from IIM-K Director Debashis Chatterjee during ‘Reimagining Keralam’, a special training programme organised on the campus on September 5, 2026. | Photo Credit: PTI ‘Reimagining Keralam’, a two-day residential retreat for the Keralam Council of Ministers being held at the Indian Institute of Management-Kozhikode (IIM-K) since August 4, concluded on Saturday afternoon.The proposed ‘Silver Economy’ Mission, strengthening of the fiscal and economic base of the State, entrepreneurship and skill development, converting Keralam as a centre of excellence in higher education, handling of generation change, and elevation of the State as a global brand were discussed on the second day. Deepa Sethi and Priya Nair Rajeev led the session on ‘Silver Economy’. Mridul Kumar Saggar and Vipin V. Veetil participated in the session on the economic sector. Ashutosh Sarkar and Nycil George were part of the session on ‘Skill Development’, and S. Sreejesh, M. Devaprasad, Ankur Jain, and Silpa Satheesh also presented their ideas.In the last academic session on ‘Generation Change and Elevating Keralam as a Global Brand’, IIM-K Director Debashis Chatterjee and Anadakuttan B. Unnithan shared their views. A photo session of the ministers was held at ‘Arjuna Path’, the scenic walkway featuring the legendary warrior from the Mahabharata, and Chief Minister V.D. Satheesan planted an Ashoka tree sapling there. The ministers later visited the ‘Gurukulam’ traditional style classroom.The valedictory ceremony was held in the afternoon, where the Chief Minister and other ministers were given their certificates by Mr. Chatterjee. The gathering brought forth ideas for new initiatives in economic growth, fiscal stability, health and well-being, climate resilience, entrepreneurship, skill development, higher education, and Keralam’s global standing, all the while upholding the State’s human-centric development model. It also served as a platform for dialogue aimed at strengthening the administrative system to make it more effective, people-centric, and future-ready, said a release.
