Luke Campbell has been Reform UK’s mayor of Hull and East Yorkshire since last May (Picture: Ian Forsyth/Getty Images) Reform UK’s Luke Campbell is under police investigation for allegedly showing a senior female colleague four ‘fully naked and sexualised images’ of himself. Campbell, a former Olympic champion boxer, became the first elected mayor of Hull and East Yorkshire in May 2025. The 39-year-old is accused of forcing the co-worker out of her job shortly after the cyberflashing incident in May 2026. His unnamed colleague was left feeling ‘shocked, embarrassed, and humiliated’ afterwards, as Campbell is said to have mocked her reaction. ‘I was deliberately exposed to naked and sexualised images involving the mayor in the workplace, without my consent, and was laughed at when I was visibly embarrassed,’ the female officer has alleged, according to documents obtained by The Observer. ‘In my view, this was unwanted conduct of a sexual nature which violated my dignity and created a humiliating, degrading and offensive working environment.’ Make sense of the mad world of British politics Want to understand how what goes on in Westminster actually affects your life? Reform UK leader Nigel Farage poses for a picture with Campbell ahead of his election win last April (Picture: Ryan Jenkinson/Getty Images) A second filing included a witness who confirmed seeing Campbell and two other male colleagues ushering a female officer to look at his laptop, on which was ‘a naked man with a tattoo’. It’s said the witness felt ‘uneasy’ afterwards. Other alleged incidents involved Campbell lowering his trousers’ waistband to show a tan line and revealing a tattoo on his lower abdomen to a woman. Approximately three weeks after the alleged cyberflashing, the female officer was informed via an eight-minute Teams call that her role had been withdrawn. She had only recently accepted the offer of becoming permanent. A complaint was lodged and heard at an employment tribunal, which asserted she lost her employment due to ‘rejection of unwanted sexual conduct’ It is understood that Humberside Police interviewed Campbell earlier this month in relation to the incident. No arrests or charges have been made, and Campbell has not addressed the matter. The Hull and East Yorkshire Combined Authority is also conducting an internal probe, although there are uncertainties about how independent it will be. Campbell secured 35.8% of the votes in the last mayoral election (Picture: Ian Forsyth/Getty Images) A Heyca spokesperson said: ‘As with all public authorities, the combined authority has a standards process that can be engaged to deal with complaints about members and a complaints procedure that can be used to deal with complaints about officers. ‘The standards process and the complaints procedure must be carried out in a fair and independent manner.’ Following a successful sporting tenure, Campbell announced his retirement from boxing in July 2021, writing on social media at the time: ‘Throughout my career I’ve tried to test myself against the very best in the industry and never shied away from anyone. I’m so grateful this hasn’t gone unnoticed from supporters and I appreciate you all.’ From his 24 fights, he secured 20 wins and four losses. Campbell, nicknamed Cool Hand, also competed on Dancing On Ice in 2013, finishing third. While he previously insisted he had no interest in forging a political career, Campbell became a Reform UK candidate last year to ‘give back’ to his home city of Hull. He had no prior political experience, nor had he ever voted in an election. Campbell came up with the idea, he said, after joking about it with friends, and he was selected ‘last minute’ when he met party leader Nigel Farage at the head office in London. Still, he maintained that he ‘did not care for politics’ but ‘would vote [for] Reform anyway, so why not’. After following Farage ‘for a while’, he stated: ‘Everything he says seems common sense to me.’ Campbell secured 35.8% of the votes in the last mayoral election, saying in his victory speech that he felt ‘humbled and honoured’. He has already faced controversy since taking on the role; last August, The Telegraph reported that staff were experiencing a ‘toxic working environment’ at the Hull and East Yorkshire Combined Authority, after which he asked five senior employees to resign due to conflicts.
