After days of speculation over who would play legendary singer and Bharat Ratna awardee MS Subbulakshmi on screen, the makers have officially announced that Rashmika Mandanna will portray her in an upcoming biopic titled MS - A Legacy On Screen. The pan-India film will be jointly produced by Allu Aravind, Rockline Venkatesh and Bunny Vas.The project was announced on Tuesday and will bring MS Subbulakshmi’s life story to the big screen. The film will be directed by Gowtam Tinnanuri, with Anirudh Ravichander composing the music. Earlier, Sai Pallavi was reportedly set to play MS Subbalakshmi in the biopic. However, Rashmika Mandanna has now been finalised to play the role.The makers are also organising a grand event at The Music Academy in Chennai on Wednesday (September 16) to mark MS Subbulakshmi’s 110th birth anniversary. According to the poster released by the makers, actor Kamal Haasan will attend the event as the special guest. Known for a voice that captivated music lovers across the world for decades, the legendary singer’s life will now be adapted for the screen in what the makers have described as a prestigious project. Rashmika Mandanna, who has earned nationwide popularity, will take on the challenging role of bringing MS Subbulakshmi to life.
