Pune techie dies after being hit by speeding car while out for morning run

A software engineer died in Pune after being hit by a speeding car while he was out for his morning run. The incident took place on Pashan-Bavdhan Road near Necklace Garden. The deceased has been identified as Virendra Dwivedi.According to preliminary information, Dwivedi was running when he was hit by a four-wheeler bearing registration number MH 12 YS 0622. He was rushed to Chellaram Hospital in the same car that hit him. However, he succumbed to his injuries during treatment.POLICE PROBE UNDERWAYPreliminary information suggests that the car is registered in the name of BlueRays Developers LLP, a private company based in Pune, with an address at ABIL House, RangeHills.Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the accident and the role of the driver. A SIMILAR ROAD ACCIDENTA similar road accident was reported in Delhi on August 10, 2026, when a Mercedes-Benz collided with a WagonR in the Narela area, killing a 70-year-old woman.According to police, the impact pushed the WagonR backwards into a stationary three-wheeler loading van. The woman, identified as Urmila, was caught between the vehicles and died on the spot. The accident took place at around 8 am in front of Himalayas Apartment. Police said the Mercedes was being driven by a young man identified as Shubham, who was detained at the spot immediately after the accident.Officials said Shubham's father is a Sub-Inspector in the Haryana Police.
