Prince Harry ‘set to release Diana documentary’ after uncle’s bombshell tell-all

The Duke of Sussex is believed to have approached friends and relatives of Diana, including her brother Earl Spencer, about taking part in the project. Harry is understood to want to honour his mother’s legacy ‘in the most meaningful way’ following her death in a car crash in Paris on August 23, 1997. A source told The Telegraph: ‘The Duke has discussed a number of possible projects to mark the 30th anniversary of his mother Diana, Princess of Wales’s passing. ‘Nothing has been finalised or confirmed, and he is still considering the most meaningful way to honour her legacy during this important anniversary year.’ Any programme is believed to be produced by the Sussexes’ Archewell Productions, while Netflix also has a ‘first look’ deal with Harry and Meghan. Earl’s memoir, Swan Song: Diana, My Sister, is due to be released next week. However, in early extracts serialised by the Daily Mail, one claims that Diana told him she was getting divorced because Charles ‘was in love with his valet’ – who is assumed to be a male member of staff. In another, he alleged that the now king had said in the wake of Diana’s death: ‘Rest assured, we’ll forget her soon enough.’ In response, the palace issued an unusual statement, claiming that fraternal grief can ‘cloud reason, affect judgment and colour memory’. Earl described the media storm around their lives as a ‘cancerous influence’. He also said that people should learn from the way his sister was affected by intense public scrutiny. This comes after Harry and Meghan’s recent return to the UK from California, six years after stepping back from royal duties.
