Premier League star flipped £60k Land Rover on way to training just DAYS after club was warned over reckless driving

He told The Mirror: “I wrote to the Hull City club secretary on Sunday asking them to remind players to be careful driving down the road because of the residents’ concerns. Sign up for the Football newsletter Thank you! “I wanted them to remind their staff to drive with extra care, because they get new players in every season.“ Cllr Redshaw said gardens back directly onto the pavement where “lorries have no option but to go” in order to get past. Shocking pictures show the overturned Land Rover Defender, complete with a personalised number plate, in the middle of the road. Fans feared the worst for the Welsh international winger when the images emerged. Witnesses described seeing the former Stoke City player’s car skidding on its roof after a reportedly high-speed crash. However, Hull was quick to confirm the deadline day signing had somehow suffered no injuries in the incident, just hours before the team face Chelsea at Stamford Bridge today. Most read in Sport The Tigers said in a statement: “Hull City is relieved to confirm that Sorba Thomas is unharmed following a road traffic accident near to the club’s Cottingham training ground. “The club is aware of images of Sorba’s car circulating on social media and can reassure supporters that he has sustained no injuries and emerged from his vehicle completely unscathed.” Hull boss Sergej Jakirovic must decide whether Thomas will travel with the squad to London. The Tigers, still yet to concede, put their unbeaten record on the line against the free-scoring Blues. While a Humberside Police spokesman told The Sun: “Officers and emergency services are currently in attendance following reports of a road traffic collision on Millhouse Woods Lane, Cottingham. “The road remains closed and motorists are advised to avoid the area to allow emergency services to operate effectively.” Ex-West Ham trainee Thomas, capped 27 times by Wales, only secured his shot at the Prem this month. He made his name in non-league at Boreham Wood after being released by the Hammers before Huddersfield gave him a chance in the EFL. Following loan stints at Blackburn and French side Nantes, he moved to Stoke City in 2025 and shone in the Championship last term, ultimately earning a move to Hull.
