Prajaseva Department meant to hear, redress citizens’ grievances, says U.T. Khader

Khader on Saturday said the government has established the Department of Prajaseva to hear and redress the grievances of every citizen.He was speaking after inaugurating the district-level Praja Seva Andolana in Puttur. The government’s objective is to deliver the benefits of every government scheme to every citizen. For this, the Prajaseva Department has been formed to listen to the grievances of the people and provide appropriate solutions. He said the objective of the andolana is to scrutinise and dispose of the applications from the public in accordance with the rules.Mr. Khader noted that some issues could not be resolved even after several years. Applications received during the andolana should be considered and solutions provided within the scope of the law. Serious thought should be given to solving problems, he said, urging officials to examine issues with patience and tolerance to serve people.The Minister pointed out that for the first time in the country, a separate department has been created to hear the problems and grievances of the public. Several major development projects have been implemented in the State in the last three years. The State government will seriously examine every application received under the Praja Seva Andolana, he added.Puttur MLA Ashok Kumar Rai and district-level officials were present.Several grievancesOn the inaugural day of the andolana, public complaints poured in at the Puttur Town Hall. Departmental counters were opened and applications received. The public raised issues including land sanction, plotting, title deeds, survey, various Revenue Department issues, gun licences, bus sanctions, and provision of teachers for schools before the district in-charge Minister.Mr. Khader said the Revenue Department is working step by step to plot land and provide RTCs, adding that all issues will be resolved within the time limit and land title deeds provided. District police officials said steps are being taken to verify gun licence applications according to the rules and provide licences to eligible farmers.On the occasion, Mr. Khader distributed title deeds to beneficiaries eligible for land allotment. He said it is a matter of happiness that issues pending for the last 20 to 30 years have been resolved.A total of 163 applications were received from the public during the andolana, including 61 for the Revenue, 22 for Rural Development, and 13 for Police departments.
