Commuters and motorists faced considerable inconvenience due to the congestion. Meanwhile, the protesters have been sitting near Parthala village for the past few days. They have raised concerns over the lack of basic amenities like electricity and water provided to the residents. They have asked the authorities to take concrete measures to ensure these amenities for the residents.Talking about the protest to India Today, farmer leader Sukhbir Khaleefa said the protest would continue until the administration provides a written assurance on their demands. He said the protesters would not call off the agitation based only on verbal assurances.
