Police investigate fatal Frankston fire

Police are investigating a fire at a home in Melbourne's south-east that claimed the life of a woman on Thursday afternoon.Firefighters were called to a blaze at Stanley Street in Frankston just before 5pm.Crews arrived to find a lower level of a two-storey unit on fire, bringing it under control about half an hour later.A yet-to-be-identified woman was found dead inside the home.No one else was inside the property at the time.Police say the circumstances of the fire are yet to be determined, with a crime scene now in place and an arson chemist to attend the scene.The investigation remains ongoing.Anyone who witnessed the incident, with CCTV/dashcam vision or information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or submit a report online.
