Pokémon has officially revealed a slick new Gyarados redesign as part of the franchise’s 30th anniversary, and the Generation 1 Water- and Flying-type creature has never looked so cool. Over the course of 2026, there have been a lot of changes happening to the series. Mewtwo got a new design in Pokémon for the 30th anniversary celebrations, exclusively within a new product. Something similar happened with Pikachu, Growlithe, and many other fan-favorite creatures, many of which are starring in new products or releases. Now, it’s time for another fan-favorite Gen 1 creature to shine, but in an unexpected way. As seen in a new post on the official Pokémon website, The Pokémon Company has just officially released two new products on the online Pokémon Center storefront. One of them features Magikarp, while the other one is centered around Gyarados. The detail here is that both Pokémon are featured in their respective Shiny forms, so Magikarp is glistening with golden scales, while Gyarados’ iconic red form comes to life amidst a blue ocean storm. The products are the result of a new collab between The Pokémon Company and Bear Walker. Over the past few years, Pokémon Center has been releasing new Pokémon-themed skateboards with Bear Walker, an American skateboard brand, and now it’s time for Magikarp and Gyarados to shine – literally. The Shiny Magikarp design is featured in the skateboard’s wood. According to Bear Walker, the idea is to “evoke a Japanese woodblock aesthetic.” It works very well, as the skateboard is gorgeous, highlighting the 129th Pokémon in the National (and Kanto) Pokédex. However, the new Shiny Gyarados skateboard for Pokémon truly pops out with its explosion of color. Within the artwork, Shiny Gyarados is raging among reckless waves, not unlike how we first encountered the creature in the Lake of Rage in Pokémon Gold and Silver. The contrast between Gyarados’ red scales and the bright blue water makes this skateboard one of a kind. On top of that, this particular model comes with an iridescent foil, which makes the entire artwork shimmer ever so slightly. Both products are already available on the official Pokémon Center website. The Shiny Magikarp skateboard is sold at $299.99, while the Shiny Gyarados skateboard deck is priced at $129.99. The collab with Bear Walker has also resulted in the release of skateboards featuring new designs for the Kanto birds from Pokémon, as well as other fan-favorite creatures, like Mew, Mewtwo, and even Mimikyu. The prices vary for each product, and it’s worth checking out which ones are complete skateboards and which ones are board decks. These new skateboards weren’t announced as 30th anniversary celebration products, but it’s fair to say that whatever is released this year does celebrate the special occasion, especially when it comes to Gen 1 creatures. New releases are planned to come out through the end of the year, too, in all shapes and sizes, so be sure to check out all the Pokémon-related news, as we prepare for the release of Winds and Waves in 2027.
