Pokémon Legends: Galar Graphics Have Gamers Seriously Excited

Many Pokémon fans look forward to this, especially since the revisit typically gives us a better look at the region itself, with the benefit of newer console technology. But fans are really excited to revisit Galar, despite the fact that we just got to know it so soon on the original Switch with Sword & Shield. Due to a leak on X, fans are starting to get a better idea of what a Pokémon Legends: Galar game will look like. Based on leaked information from multiple sources (including Centro Leaks), Pokémon Legends: Galar is still being developed. While Game Freak has been mum on a Generation 5 Unova remake (and it's not currently listed in any leaked lists), it seems like they're going full steam ahead for Winds & Waves in 2027, followed by two more projects: a "multi-region MMO-like" adventure, and Legends: Galar. The Legends series has taken us to familiar regions in the past, with Arceus taking place in Hisui (Sinnoh) and Z-A in Lumiose City (Kalos). While Pokémon Sword & Shield is still a semi-recent Generation, a Legends game with a more "realistic" art style has fans pumped. As one puts it: "If they actually lean into a more grounded British-inspired aesthetic instead of leaning too heavy on cell-shading, it could look proper striking on Switch." Another points out that it works thematically: "A more grounded style could fit Galar really well, especially if they lean into its industrial and historical influences" Other fans aren't jazzed by the idea of returning to Galar so soon: "WHY are we coming back to Galar? Let me go back to Hoenn PLEASEEEEEE." Some are wondering just how Galar-inspired a future Legends game will be: "Legends GALAR and there's more Gen 1 Pokémon onscreen I don't hate Gen 1 but please let literally any other Gen have the spotlight fully." Select fans are a bit more blunt: "I high-key DON'T want Legends Galar... I'd personally like Johto or Unova much more. We basically already experienced past-Galar with end-game Sword and Shield. What more is there to do with that story? Experiencing the past in Johto, or learning any past lore, Unova is better imo." While I wouldn't mind a Generation 5 remake (just for the sake of consistency), Pokémon will carry on for the foreseeable future, and there are plenty of opportunities to revisit every region eventually.
