PNP eyeing 2,000 new recruits in 2027

MANILA, Philippines —The Philippine National Police (PNP) is planning to recruit 2,000 new police officers next year with a proposed budget of P700 million. In a statement, PNP chief Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. welcomed the proposed funding, saying the additional personnel would help the police force respond to emergencies, enforce the law and deter crime. “The recruitment of more policemen means more manpower to secure streets and communities, enforce the law and quickly respond to emergencies and calls for assistance,” Nartatez said. The proposed recruitment is expected to help address the continuing need for adequate police coverage as the PNP continues its efforts to protect communities, prevent crimes and respond to incidents.
