Persona 4 Revival Won't Include A Yosuke Romance Because Of Adachi

Sign in to your TheGamer account Persona 4 Revival is still a few months away, but you'd expect it to be releasing next week with how much info Atlus has released about the game. We've had trailers for almost every character, lyric videos for all the game's songs, and various explanations as to why exactly the remake hasn't included the highly-requested Yosuke romance option. We've been told a couple of times that Atlus considers it to be too much work for the game, and that having Yosuke as a romance option would have required them to make more male romance options, but it's never really been an excuse that's sat right with fans, especially since we've found out that it's created a whole new social link for a character that didn't even exist properly in the original. If You've Wanted To Romance Adachi, You're Out Of Luck Well, Atlus has now heated up the excuse one more time, though with a completely baffling addition. Atlus still believes that if Yosuke were to have a romance option, more male characters should too, but the police officer and goofy goober Toru Adachi was specifically mentioned as a man that should also be a romance option, which is probably the most baffling choice in the game. "We don’t think it would be right to give that option to Yosuke alone," says Persona's Kazuhisa Wada in a new interview. "If we were to do that, we would also have to consider whether the other male characters and male Social Links should have similar options as well, including Adachi. That would ultimately turn into a very large scale system and could potentially make it into a completely different game."Wada then goes on to try and shut down the whole Yosuke romance theory by claiming that the voice lines originally discovered by dataminers were "probably test voice lines recorded during development", but that fans should still interpret relationship for themselves.I'm not entirely convinced that you'd have to make a ton of male romance options just to add Yosuke, nor that Adachi of all characters would have to be an option, but I guess you can stick to your guns, Atlus. It's also a bit suspect to try and shut down fan theories as well, but Yosuke shippers have dealt with worse. It's just a shame we won't be getting the romance option at all.
