Xaverian Brothers (Mass.) football has won three state titles in a row. The Westwood program is back in action and a fourth-straight title looks like a strong possibility. The Hawks are now 2-0 this fall after a 53-6 drubbing of Everett on Friday night. Star quarterback Will Wood is back in the saddle for one more ride and his senior campaign is off to a superb start. The three-star Penn State commit needed just three quarters to throw five touchdowns on the road in his second win of the season. That performance followed a six-touchdown showing in Xaverian’s season-opening 42-36 victory over Bishop Feehan last week. As a junior, he finished with more than 2,800 total yards, 42 touchdowns and just one interception. He’s blossomed into a coveted recruit and committed to Penn State back in May. The 2026 Xaverian roster no longer features last year’s top receiver Christian McIntyre and is generally younger, but there’s still plenty of familiarity among the offensive group. Wood is the straw that stirs the drink for the Hawks and they’ll be quite tough to beat this fall, to no surprise. Earlier this week, Rivals’ Andy Villamarzo spoke with Xavieran head coach Al Fornaro. The goal for the Hawks is a fourth MIAA state championship, and while the road may not be smooth, there’s confidence that they’ll climb the mountain once again. “We’re going to stay in the moment,” Fornaro said. “You know, it’s one play at a time, one series at a time, one quarter at a time, and so forth at the game. You’re keeping them focus through the week. There are two things that you can never do. One is to underestimate the regular season opponents and one is to overestimate your opponent. Well, we’ve already drove it into their heads. “Do not underestimate them based on what happened last year or two years ago. We’re a different team. We’ve got different pieces. It’s not the NFL.
