They’re looking for places they haven’t been and experiences they can’t simply find on every itinerary,” said Robert Sharp, co-founder and CEO of Out Adventures. “For 2028, we wanted to go deeper, whether that means hiking across three countries around Mont Blanc, exploring villages in Provence that most tours pass over or getting off the ship twice a day in Baja. These are trips designed for travelers who want to really experience a destination.”Among the new offerings is Baja California: Gay Cruise & Expedition, Out Adventures’ largest expedition cruise to date. Up to 85 guests will sail aboard the National Geographic Venture through the Gulf of California, with most days featuring both morning and afternoon excursions. The itinerary includes gray whale encounters, snorkeling at Isla Espíritu Santo, kayaking through Bahía Concepción and exploring Cabo Pulmo National Marine Park. It is also the company’s first charter to pair expedition programming with nightly entertainment from both a drag performer and a DJ.This advertisement has not loaded yet, but your article continues below. For travelers who prefer exploring on foot, the new France: Mont Blanc Adventure follows the famed Tour du Mont Blanc across France, Italy and Switzerland. Unlike many Mont Blanc hiking itineraries that rely on camping, Out Adventures’ guests will stay in hotels along the route, with luggage transferred between accommodations so hikers need only carry a daypack. In southern France, Provence & the French Riviera weaves LGBTQ+ history into a deep dive through the region, from tracing James Baldwin’s footsteps in Saint-Paul-de-Vence to exploring the Riviera’s gay literary history in Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat. The itinerary also includes Picasso’s former studio in Antibes, villages throughout the Luberon, a private wine tasting and the Palais des Papes in Avignon. The 2028 additions also include a coast-to-coast exploration of Sicily, with two nights in Noto; a guided trek along Ireland’s Kerry Way; and the return of Sri Lanka for the first time since 2019 after the destination ranked near the top of an Out Adventures guest survey.Four Favorites Return for 2028Alongside the six new itineraries, Out Adventures is bringing back four favorites for 2028: China: Highlights & Tibet; Scotland: Highlands Gay Cruise; Georgia: Crossroads of Empires; and The Baltics: Lithuania, Latvia & Estonia. This advertisement has not loaded yet. This advertisement has not loaded yet, but your article continues below. The returning trips include experiences that remain unusual within LGBTQ+ group travel. Out Adventures’ China itinerary includes Tibet, with the company arranging the additional permit required to visit the region, while its Scotland itinerary takes guests by small ship through the Highlands and across Loch Ness. Georgia and the Baltics can also be combined into a longer Eastern European journey, with an optional Helsinki extension exploring Tom of Finland’s legacy and Helsinki’s queer history. The six new tours and four returning favorites are available for booking beginning Oct. 5, with Out Adventures’ remaining 2028 departures scheduled to launch in late November. For more information and to view the 2028 tours, visit outadventures.com.About Out AdventuresSince 2009, Out Adventures has been one of the world’s leading LGBTQ+ tour companies, running 60 to 70 scheduled group departures and cruises annually to more than 50 countries.
