At approximately 12:30 p.m. the Ledyard Fire Company, Gales Ferry Fire Company and Mashantucket Fire Department were dispatched to Thompson Street for a report of a deck fire that was extending to the structure. Upon arrival, firefighters found heavy smoke conditions showing from the front of the house, with flames showing from the rear going into the first floor and attic space.
