One dead, woman detained in stabbing incident

A 31-year-old woman is dead, and another female is in police custody assisting with investigations following a stabbing early Saturday along Maynard Housing Area, St Peter. The deceased has been identified by a relative as Mesha Cherese Pierre of Sugar Hill, St Joseph. Police at District ‘E’ Station say the incident occurred around 4 a.m. on Saturday. Initial investigations indicate that a group of people had gathered in the area when a dispute broke out between two females. Pierre received stab wounds and was taken by private vehicle to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, where she later succumbed to her injuries.
