Oman, Rwanda deepen ties with air connectivity and logistics partnership

Muscat: Oman and Rwanda are strengthening economic and investment cooperation through new air connectivity, logistics partnerships and collaboration in emerging technologies, according to an infographic issued by Oman’s Ministry of Economy.The implementation of an air services agreement in January 2026, followed by the launch of the first direct SalamAir flights between Muscat and Kigali in July 2026 boosted bilateral ties. The growing partnership also covers artificial intelligence, telecommunications, cloud computing, airport management and the operation of dry ports, supporting closer links between the two countries and their wider regions.The Ministry identified six promising investment sectors: tourism and hospitality, agriculture, mining, healthcare and pharmaceuticals, technology and telecommunications, and economic zones and basic infrastructure.Rwanda is also being positioned as a gateway for investment in East Africa, offering an attractive business environment and regional access for Omani investors.The initiatives are aligned with Oman Vision 2040 and efforts to expand international economic partnerships, strengthen logistics connectivity and diversify investment opportunities beyond traditional markets.
