Oman airports win nine global awards for passenger experience

Muscat: Muscat International Airport and Salalah Airport have received nine global awards at the Airports Council International (ACI) Customer Experience Awards, presented during the ACI Airport Experience Summit 2026 in Istanbul, Türkiye.The recognition highlights the leading position achieved by both airports in passenger experience and service quality. It also reflects the efforts of Oman Airports staff, employees and partners across the airport community to provide passengers with an efficient, comfortable and attentive travel experience at every stage of their journey. Muscat International Airport won four awards in the category for airports handling five million or more passengers in the Asia-Pacific and Middle East region: “Most Enjoyable Airport”, “Cleanest Airport”, “Most Dedicated Staff” and “Best Departure Airport”.Salalah Airport won five awards in the category for airports handling fewer than five million passengers in the Asia-Pacific and Middle East region. The awards were for “Most Enjoyable Airport”, “Cleanest Airport”, “Easiest Journey Through Airport”, “Most Dedicated Staff” and “Best Departure Airport”.Saud bin Nasser Al Habishi, Acting CEO of Oman Airports, said the recognition reflects passengers’ confidence in the services provided at Muscat International and Salalah airports.He said the awards give the airports a prominent presence at a global event specialising in airport experience, while reinforcing Oman’s aviation sector in terms of service quality and passenger experience. They also support the airports’ role in serving the travel and tourism sectors and enhancing national and international air connectivity.Al Habishi said the “Most Dedicated Staff” award was particularly significant as it directly recognises the daily efforts of Oman Airports employees and staff and partners across the airport community.He added that passenger experience is the result of collaboration among the various teams and entities operating at the airports, from operations and services to all points of contact with passengers.Al Habishi said the achievement demonstrates the airports’ commitment to teamwork and partnership, as well as their ongoing efforts to enhance passenger experience and strengthen the position of Oman’s airports regionally and internationally.
