Ole Miss got the win everybody wanted, 32-24, over Lane Kiffin and LSU. The Rebels, now ranked No. 4 nationally, wasted little time celebrating. Up next is their first true road trip of the season. Ole Miss takes on Florida in Gainesville on Saturday in another Top 25 matchup. The Gators, also 3-0, came in at No. 21 this week following a 44-39 win over Auburn. Kickoff is set for 2:30 p.m. CT on ABC. The Rebels haven’t won in the Swamp since 2008. They haven’t forgotten their last trip there, either. Ole Miss arrived in Gainesville ranked inside the Top 10 in November 2024 and left with a 24-17 loss that effectively ended its College Football Playoff hopes. The Rebels returned the favor with a 34-24 win over Florida in Oxford last season. The all-time series is now tied, 13-13-1. Don’t miss out on anything and join the Ole Miss Spirit! Pete Golding’s first full season as head coach has already included three wins, including a pair over ranked opponents. Florida is the sixth ranked opponent Golding has faced in his first seven games. He’s 4-1 in the first five. The Rebels are receiving first-place votes in the AP poll for the first time since the 1960s. Ole Miss quarterback Trinidad Chambliss rolls into Gainesville coming off a career-high 363 passing yards against LSU. Ole Miss leads the SEC and ranks eighth nationally with 330.7 passing yards per game. Florida presents a much different challenge. [Join the Ole Miss Spirit for 60% off!] The Gators are averaging 54 points and 544.3 yards per game. Running back Jadan Baugh has rushed for 458 yards and eight touchdowns, while quarterback Aaron Philo has completed 47 of 64 passes for 721 yards and six touchdowns. There are personnel questions to follow, too. Kewan Lacy’s status will remain one of the biggest storylines of the week after the Ole Miss running back injured his shoulder against LSU. He’s a game-time decision. The Rebels are also continuing to get healthier in the secondary. Florida transfer Sharif Denson made his Ole Miss debut against LSU and finished with eight tackles and a tackle for loss. Denson is one of 13 Florida natives on the Ole Miss roster, the largest group of Rebels from any state outside Mississippi. Then there’s recruiting. Florida has long been one of the Rebels’ most important recruiting territories, and a ranked SEC road game provides another opportunity for Golding and his staff to make an impression. Ole Miss has been on a recruiting tear since LSU, including commitments from two four-star safeties in Giovanni Tuggle and Braylen Bedford. Ole Miss Spirit lead recruiting analyst Zach Berry will have the latest intel on the Rebels’ commitments and top targets throughout the week. The Ole Miss Spirit will have all angles covered from Oxford to Gainesville — daily reporting, premium intel, recruiting updates, analysis and everything coming out of another significant SEC week.
