Oklahoma court delivers TRO allowing Boise State DL Braxton Fely to suit up for Oklahoma

On3 Football Another state court has provided a temporary restraining order against the NCAA that could bolster the roster of a team this fall. In this case, it’s Oklahoma who might stand to benefit from a suit, with former Boise State defensive lineman Braxton Fely the player in question. According to On3’s Pete Nakos, an Oklahoma state court provided the TRO on Thursday. It will allow Fely to suit up for the Sooners pending a preliminary injunction hearing. Fely played his final season at Boise State last year before the NCAA introduced a new 5-in-5 eligibility ruling. That ruling did not grandfather in the class of 2022, leaving dozens of athletes around the country without eligibility — until they sued. Of note in this case: Braxton Fely did receive an invite to rookie minicamp with the Denver Broncos. However, he did not sign an NFL contract, according to a report from the Idaho Press.
