OIL PRICE WATCH as of Sept. 8, 2026

Oil Price Watch by the Inquirer team MANILA, Philippines – Pump prices in Metro Manila have once again breached the P100-per-liter mark, with gasoline and diesel prices rising by as much as P5 per liter on Tuesday amid continued fighting in the Middle East and higher global oil prices. The latest increases have pushed gasoline prices to as high as P102 per liter and diesel to P102 per liter in some parts of the capital region, adding to the pressure on motorists and consumers. The Department of Energy attributed the increases to elevated international oil prices, disruptions to energy flows in the Middle East and the depreciation of the Philippine peso against the US dollar.
