Oasis reveal concerns as former sound engineer vows to sell recordings of unreleased live shows for huge sum

OASIS are said to have ‘expressed concern’ after their former sound engineer has vowed to sell unreleased recordings of the band’s live shows and rehearsals in an auction. The collection reportedly contains more than 100 hours of rehearsals and “unfiltered dialogue” between the Gallagher brothers and will go on sale in early October for over £1 million. His son, Owain Richards, is selling the collection via Littleton Auctions in their music auction, which will take place on Saturday 3 October. Sign up for the Showbiz newsletter Thank you! However, the auction house’s managing director confirmed to The Times that Noel and Liam’s side have “expressed concerns” over the sale. “The Oasis camp is aware of the auction and has expressed concerns, which is entirely understandable given the scale and significance of the material.” But he confirmed the auction house was “handling everything with full transparency and proper legal process”. He added: “Our focus is simply on presenting these items responsibly, with verified provenance, and allowing collectors and institutions to engage with an important part of British music history.” The tapes are thought to be listed with a guide price of between £1.2 million and £1.6 million.
