No saint statues at public safety building

BOSTON — The Massachusetts Supreme Court affirmed a preliminary injunction preventing the mayor of the city of Quincy from installing two statues depicting Saint Michael and Saint Florian, two Catholic saints, at the city’s new public safety building. The statues would be paid for by taxpayers, so it would constitute an “improper intermingling” of church and state.
