However, if you didn’t manage to get a Switch 2 before the price went up, I have good news. Nintendo’s latest console is available for its lowest price ever right now, but it won’t stay that way for long. Switch 2 Price Plummets In The UK The Switch 2 launched with an MSRP of £395.99 in the UK. That MSRP went up to £419.99 on September 1, meaning the console now costs just £10 less than the Mario Kart World bundle option those who bought the console at launch were given. The price cuts the Switch 2 has now received at certain retailers bring its price down to well below either of those MSRPs, meaning if you buy one now, you’re going to get quite the deal compared to early Switch 2 adopters. Smyths Toys and Argos are the two retailers currently selling Switch 2 consoles at a heavy discount. That’s £40 less than its launch price, and a £65 saving against its current MSRP. More than 15% off, which is quite the saving on not just a still very new console, but a Nintendo console. Nintendo’s hardware and games do go on sale, but not as often as its competitors, and usually not for all that much. There’s no indication on either site hinting at just how long the Switch 2 is going to be available for such a low price. However, if you missed out on picking one up before the price hike, you’ve been thinking about picking one up, or you need a Switch 2 for a gift this holiday season, I would really cash in on this pretty incredible offer while you have the chance if you can afford to do so. There’s no telling when Smyths and Argos will return the Switch 2 to its new £419.99 MSRP, and no telling when it will have its price cut again. Even if it does, I’d be very surprised if the price drops as low as £354.99 again anytime soon. With RAM prices still on the rise, the most likely scenario is that some time soon, Nintendo will be forced to raise the price of the Switch 2 again. Price cut or not, the Switch 2 has become the best deal in gaming if you want to play most of the latest releases. It’s £100 less than the cheapest PS5 or Series S available, and it continues to prove it’s capable of running third-party games that would have been unavailable on Nintendo consoles during previous generations. Cyberpunk 2077, Elden Ring, and Resident Evil Requiem are all examples of games you can now play on Switch 2.
